Lisa Tenner is the consummate multi-hyphenate business manager, marketing and sponsorship expert, philanthropist, television and film producer, music supervisor, music and gaming event pro and moderator and speaker at world class conferences and events. Her recent speaking engagements include the Global Gaming Conference, the EventPro Forum, and the Conference of Marketing presented by the International Institute of Research USA.
Although she is a true visionary, she never anticipated the diversity of her expertise when she started as an entry level stockbroker in Los Angeles at Joseph Sebag & Co. and became the most successful securities trader there.
Lisa studied psychology at UCLA not knowing what a vital asset that would be in her future in entertainment! She has since been an adjunct professor there, teaching the Business of Music for ten years as well as at Harvard in Internet studies. Her knowledge of the business came from experience including her foray into business management with Ed Silver, where she was introduced to the music business following her brief foray into stock brokerage, as she serviced Toto and The Tubes amongst others. Subsequently, as a principal in Nanas Stern Biers, a preeminent business management firm, she handled accounts including Jane’s Addiction, Warrant, KORN, Soundgarden, the Monkees, and got her taste for events working with Kevin Lyman and the Warped Tour. She formed her own company in 1991 and built a successful practice expanding her client base to include bands as well as music industry superstars including producers, record company executives and talent managers, providing her with even more insight into the workings of the music, TV, and film businesses.
She merged her knowledge and contacts by creating and producing EAT’M (Emerging Artists & Technology in Music), an annual event which debuted in 1998 in Las Vegas, which by then she called home. Her effort to introduce emerging artists to industry heavyweights became an annual “go to” event featuring a conference with educational and informational panels of experts from all facets of the music business, numerous showcases, and a festival. The platform served to launch many careers such as those of Papa Roach and Michele Branch, Slipknot and over two dozen over a four-year period.
With proven marketing skills, Tenner & Associates, Inc. became a sought after branding and marketing company both in the entertainment business and in others such as tourism and poker (players and events), She created award winning publicity-generating brand-driven campaigns and events, secured corporate and media sponsorships and negotiated television deals. Her client list included such notable entities as Jeep, Caesar’s Entertainment, Card Player Cruises, Hard Rock Hotel, Elle Magazine, Global Gaming Expo, to name a few. Among her successful ventures were numerous events showcased on VH1 including those organized for the Cosmopolitan Resort and Casino, The Grand Lucayan Hotel and Resort, Card Player Cruises and many more.
It was this introduction to television production that whet her appetite to become further entrenched in that world in which she has already proven success. She was responsible for marketing the multiple award-winning public television series BizKid$, which she also co-produced, and is currently a producer and the music supervisor for Opportunity Knock$, an infotainment series debuting in Fall 2022. Simultaneously she is in development on Last Band Standing which she created and is executive producing. Lisa Tenner continues to expand her horizons as evidenced by her recent partnership in Game and Show which has a portfolio of over a dozen game, competition, and reality television shows.
She has never forgotten to pay her success forward. Philanthropic efforts she has created include Emerging Artists Fund, and one of which she is particularly proud, The Queens of Heart, the charitable arm of the World Series of Poker’s Ladies Event which benefits the American Heart Association and the Cure for Cancer Foundation.
Tenner has been recognized and honored for those achievements she has already accomplished. She is the recipient of the Nevada Governor’s Tourism Award, honored by the Mayor of Las Vegas for her contributions to the Special Olympics Nevada, with another proclamation bestowed on her for co-founding Pokergives.org dedicated to creating fundraising charity poker events around the world. She has been named “Event Pro of the Year” in the live event performance category by her peers, tapped by Global Gaming magazine as one of the Top 25 People to Watch. Ms. Tenner has been a member of NARAS for the past thirty years and a member of ERMA for entertainment brand community. She continues teaching and writing for various publications.
